The senior patrol leader is the top junior leader in the
troop. He leads the patrol leaders' council and , in consultation with the Scoutmaster, appoints other junior leaders
and assigns specific responsibilities as needed. The senior patrol leader is elected by troop members, usually for a
six month term.
The assistant senior patrol leader fills in for the senior patrol leader in his absence.
He also is responsible for training and giving direction to the quartermaster, troop historian, and other troop officers.
The patrol leader is elected to lead each patrol by assigning jobs, and accepting
and fulfilling group responsibilities. He has an assistant patrol leader to fill in in his absence.
The troop historian collects and maintains troop memorabilia and information on former
troop members.
The troop guide is an adviser and guide to the new scouts.
The quartermaster is responsible for troop supplies and equipment.
The troop scribe is the troop secretary.
A den chief works with a Cub Scout den as a guide.
